Pyre 07:51
Feed the fire, keep it fed Or the night will strike your head Feed the fire, keep it fed Or the night will bring the dread One day a match scared the night A legend swelled among the sooty men And it never came back. Until Oh, this guarding tree seems so nice And what a cool mattress of grass Look in the sky, what a beautiful… Until the fantasy trip of a dancing shadow Numb and stunned face staring At now cold and ominous steres Someone just did something bloody stupid Some long and worrisome days rise But no revenge from the revived night For a torn and reviled rite What has been told to us? Is “us” dead? A prophet stood up from the artless crowd Something had burnt their eyes and blurred their minds But he would open the blinds Yeah Jack, the holy crackling has no reason to be? So, you just cracked the core mystery? Sure But Jack, aren’t you the one who’s cracked? Feed the fire, keep it fed Or the night will strike your head Feed the fire, keep it fed Or the night will bring the dread

There was a sir full of tales to forget Far away from the crowded walls High on a mountain, high he’s feeling free Until some new comers came across his peace Damn, I can’t stay still This is my mountain they’re trying to steal And the sheep were gone And the water went missing And a kid disappeared Like a curse to fear Damn, we can’t stay still This is the Devil playing on our hill He went down to the village To bring back the kid And found the tribe gathered Talking about the flea Realizing then that soon alone he would be He showed up with the kid To the fellow men That listened carefully He said: Men, you don’t have to leave I know this mountain, this is where I live I’ve seen the Devil, he needs a small fee One day per week you shall Rest in peace

Mission 06:18
Can’t wait for a better cover, I got to cross the rain And find someone who’ll help If I run, I’ll manage It’s far too late to play it safe Mousquetaires, that’s a holy quest The road is clear, no crowd to shove through The speed is unwinding A silent and dark blue space Surrounding the glittering bowling lane Dude, this is a cool mission Let’s slow down the pace, a little, to catch my breath It’s getting late, but A wet concert of splashing lights is playing right ahead What a soothing sight, no viewers to spoil this stroll What was I going? Gonna get back to it… in 5 little seconds They’re off, I’m out, it’s cold and wet Is this hailing on me? Ain’t no one to stop this threat? It’ll take me hours to get over there This is hell of a mission The rains had stopped Thanks for help I am back on tracks Soon is the end And that’s the final straight

Bateau 03:54
Drinking wine all the time Singing loud, jokes, pride And that feels all right Drinking rum all night long Chugging beer, wine, gin All the whisky’s mine Everything is mine He stole the juice under his arm Up the mast, real fast He’s very high Captain, can we have some? “Sure, I’m on my way!” Let’s drink all the whisky Where is the captain? We’ve lost the captain Wet is the captain Drinking wine all the time Singing loud, jokes, pride And that feels all right

about

This is the story of Jack Tremendous.
A good guy, as they say. Unlucky, or half-witted? Nobody knows.
Jack let a few-hundred-years-old-fire burn out. "Keep the fire, keep it fed, or the night will strike your head". As the legend was true, Jack went away. Away from it all, away from men. Almost… Will he ever be at peace? To be left alone, he spread a malicious rumour among the villagers. But he was unable to keep the secret, and his clumsiness caused a scuffle. So Jack ran away, in seek of help. Maybe a bit too far as he got lost and forgot his quest. What can easily happen after a few strong drinks in the company of drunken sailors, indeed.
Unlucky, or half-witted? Probably both. But it doesn’t matter, because the story ends blissfully.

This story was written and recorded in a Pyrenees’ chalet by The Philbeach Crew, a progressive rock band based in Paris.

«On t’avait pourtant prévenu».
